In the first part of this analysis, I engage with this dominance of Hollywood cinema and the social model it reproduces. I develop my argument by deconstructing Hollywood´s representation of the social realm as problematic - not only because it floods the market with very similar films, which tends to get rather boring, but also because it raises social distance among its viewers. I argue that the Hollywood Industry reproduces a conservative set of values, implicit in the social model it promotes. In the second part of the analysis, I discuss interactive technologies, aiming to probe their potential for the creation of interactive narrative in cinematographic storytelling. The practical investigation is based on developed interactive audio-visual works as well as on experiments, conducted either by myself or in collaboration with other artists. The aim of this practical investigation in audio-visual form and function is to establish a possible foundation of how to construct a film with an interactive narrative. I hope to lay a base for the future development and realisation of such a film.
